No matter what city you go to in the United States, there will always be a local fan favorite restaurant. While I know some of my friends and colleagues may disagree with my pick, I will always and forever see Shuckers Bar & Grill as the staple of perfection for bar food and gastro pubs. Yes, it may not have the glitz and the glamour that these new modern and contemporary gastro pubs have in their establishment. But the one thing Shuckers will have above anything else is character…and of course one of the most beautiful water view in the entire city!
But before we get to that, let’s talk about the overall location for of the notorious local bar. Situated in Miami Beach in the heart of Biscayne Bay and North Bay Village, the local waterfront restaurant has served various customers, both tourist and locals alike. Unlike most populated spots in the Miami-Dade area, Shuckers holds it’s own, somewhat isolated from the rest of the Miami world. For visitors, this may seem a bit out of the way. But if you ask any local, it is absolutely worth the trip! One great thing about Shuckers is the accessibility to parking. In a majority of my blogs, much of the restaurants found in Brickell or the Midtown-area, while great to go to, are often bogged down because of their inaccessibility to parking. With Shuckers, you do not have to worry about parking. The restaurant has a large accessible parking lot (free of charge) for their visitors and customers to park there.
For all South Floridians, we know that this type of luxury is a rarity.
While the overall aesthetics and design of the entire restaurant may not be impressive, the character, and of course the view, is definitely something worth seeing time and time again. The minute you walk into Shuckers, you are greeted with your typical sports bar scenery. With televisions and cliché cheap tables, it is hard to recognize the difference between the inside of this to that of a Red Lobsters; that is until you sit down to a spectacular breathtaking water view. Over the years, Shuckers has been able to amass a variety of accolades from ‘Best Sports Bar’ to ‘Best Local Spot.’ Much of its popularity can be primarily attributed to its incredibly breathtaking scenery. Unlike other places in Miami, Shuckers provides all of its guest and diners with an incredible view of the Miami skyline and waterfront. And because of its secluded location, you and your guest feel like you are dining in your own private island.
As for the staff, you can find no better waiting service than Shuckers. The waiters and waitresses are incredibly friendly and are helpful in accommodating all of your needs. As for the food, Shuckers provides an incredible variety of American cuisine. Some of my personal favorites have been the Calamari and Buffalo-Wings combination. In addition, the menu provides an incredible Happy Hour service from domestic beer to delicious margaritas.\
So if you are in the North Miami area and are looking for a place to sit-down, dine, and relax with some friends, I highly encourage you check out this South Floridian gem. Remember, you haven’t been to South Florida if you haven’t been to Shuckers!
